Welcome to the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group's Sixth Form Centre

Our Sixth Form Centre aims to provide students with a stepping stone between school and university and prepares them for further study or employment – which is great practice for those inevitable changes that life brings. We do this by creating an adult learning environment where students are able to thrive and be independent.

Many of our students comment on the positive attitude of our staff and the mutual respect they develop from working together, and the positive impact this has on their learning.

In addition to ensuring learner's academic progression, we also want students to progress as an individual and have a range of support in place to help them develop your confidence, skillset and portfolio.

We base our A Level programmes on facilitating and stimulating subjects, ensuring students have the skills and knowledge which are in demand by universities and employers. This, as well as our wrap-around support for our students, has led many of them to secure places at a range of Russell Group universities including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as on to prosperous careers.

Academic Excellence: 99.4% pass rate for A Levels in 2023, with 44% of students achieving high-grades (A*-B).

Prestigious Destinations: Students regularly achieve places at prestigious universities including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Durham University, the University of Edinburgh and more. We have considerable links with different universities but we also offer other opportunities to progress, including a range of Higher Education course options on campus and opportunities to progress into work either via an Apprenticeship route or through links with local and regional employers.
In 2023, nine subjects achieve a 100% pass rate including History, Geography, English Language, Chemistry and Business.

Facilities

As a Sixth Form student, you will also be able to make the most of our state-of-the-art facilities and expansive learning materials. Our A Level curriculum is mostly delivered in our Sixth Form Centre in the Academy Building, which has dedicated classrooms and spaces for learners. The building is also home to our fully-stocked library and Student Central. We also have specialised science laboratories, sports facilities and an Art, Design, Photography and Media centre.

Our campus also has a range of social spaces, including our onsite Coffee Shop which proudly serves Starbucks coffee – providing you with a space to relax, grab a drink and meet with friends. Our refectory also serves a range of delicious hot and cold food.

Work up a sweat in our extensive facilities for Sports students, including a gym, fitness testing lab, therapy and massage suite and pitches.
