Welcome to the Mathematics Department
In 2020 we achieved a 100% pass rate across all our A Level Maths programmes. For Mathematics 45.9% of students achieved a A*-B and for Further Mathematics 50% of students achieved an A*- B grade.

Our Student Successes
A Level student Rachel Kane achieved an A* in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics and an A in Chemistry. Rachel has secured a place at the University of Bristol to study Physics.
After achieving an A* in Mathematics and Physics, an A in Further Mathematics and a B in French, Samuel now plans to go to to pilot training school to gain his Private Pilot License.

Destination: Human Sciences degree at the University of Oxford’s Keble College
Emily, who was the joint top-performing A Level student in 2019, initially secured a place at the University of Oxford’s prestigious Summer School in 2018, which confirmed her dream to study there. Discovering she had secured a place at Oxford on A Level Results Day, Emily said: “I’m ecstatic, I was convinced I wasn’t going to get in. It will be such an amazing place to study a course that really interests me. It has been a great experience at Selby College – I’m so grateful for the support of my lecturers!”
