Please note: Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we will be following latest government guidance on opening and allowing access to our facilities, and taking comprehensive safety precautions wherever necessary. 

For more than 30 years Selby College has stood at the heart of the local community providing a diverse range of learning opportunities for pre and post 16 students, adult learners and employers.

Thanks to a huge £35m investment in its state of the art campus, Selby College now boasts some of the most up-to-date facilities of any education provider in the area.

The Refectory

A light and airy space where you can grab a bite to eat or just meet up with your friends, the Light Bites Refectory offers a selection of hot and cold food and drinks.

The Coffee Shop

A small intimate area in the Jubilee Building ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of college life, the Coffee Shop serves up a variety of freshly made sandwiches, cakes, hot snacks and speciality coffees from 8.30am-1.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Restaurant

Open to staff, students and the general public, the Restaurant in the Jubilee Building provides a range of good quality food prepared and served by students on our Hospitality courses. And, with its licensed bar the Restaurant is also available to hire for private functions.

The Shop

Selling a range of competitively priced art materials, stationery, sweets, gift wrap, cards, stamps, gifts, drinks and much more, the Shop is open daily from 9.00am-3.00pm.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC)

The Learning Resource Centre, in the Sixth Form Academy Building, houses a diverse collection of books, journals, online resources, DVDS, maps, newspapers, magazines, past exam papers and more. As well as more than 60 computer workstations, there are 25 laptops and more than 147 study areas for quiet, individual or group work. The LRC also acts as a hub that provides a variety of electronic resources accessible anywhere, 24/7.

Selby College boasts more than 600 PCs, one for every 1.8 students, each running the latest operating system alongside commercial and industrial standard software. Plus, we offer interactive whiteboards in most classrooms, a virtual Learning environment that can be accessed from any PC with an internet connection and two Apple Mac computer Suites.*

*Please note these are used primarily for the college's Art and Design courses.


Our state-of-the-art Aspire health and well-being centre has everything you need to relax, revitalise and re-energise including:

  • Purpose-built Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy salons offering a diverse range of services and treatments, performed by students with close supervision from highly-qualified staff, at a fraction of the normal cost.

Bright Start Day Nursery

Bright Start Day Nursery is located on the college campus and provides meals, formula and nappies for up to 53 children aged three months to five years.

Open from 7.30am-6pm Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year, the nursery is also OfSTED registered and so qualifies for a Nursery Education Grant.
