Hospitality & Catering demo at Howden Show

If you are heading down to Howden Show on Sunday 1st July make sure you stop by the Food & Drink Festival between 11am-12noon where Selby College Lecturer in Hospitality & Catering Liz Brighton and student Beth Beadle will be cooking up a culinary feast as part of the demonstrations running throughout the day.

Howden-based Liz and Beth, who is from Goole, have lined up some delicious recipes for the warm weather, including elderflower cordial, a pigeon breast and raspberry salad, a chocolate fondant and a panna cotta served with summer berries.

Former Goole Academy student Beth, aged 18, has recently completed her Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery at Selby College, which also includes units from the Level 2 VRQ in Professional Food & Beverage Service. Beth has now progressed on to a Level 3 Apprenticeship as a chef with the newly opened Anna’s Happy Kitchen, Café & Farm Shop on the outskirts of Howden, and will continue to attend college one day a week to support her training.

If you are interested in finding out more about the full-time and part-time Hospitality & Catering courses on offer at Selby College please come along and have a chat with Liz and Beth, or visit the information stand in the tent.
