Access Diploma in Criminal Justice

Level: 3

Duration: 1 year (full-time)

This criminal justice course prepares you for entry into higher education for a range of professions such as the police, youth offending services, prison service, probationary service or victim and offender support services.

You’ll gain theoretical knowledge and learn to understand crime in the context of its culture, as well as the criminal justice system. You’ll get a foundation in the psychology of crime, and enhance your studies by exploring the theories of offending behaviour and responses to crime.

You will also be supported through the UCAS application process and overall be prepared for study at higher education. Our experienced teaching staff are passionate about their areas of expertise and are committed to helping you to attain your learning goals and meet your personal aims.

Entry Requirements

  • You must be at least 19 years old
  • GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above

Most universities expect students to have grade C/4 in Mathematics when they apply for their Higher Education course and many are no longer accepting other Level 2 equivalents in literacy and numeracy. You are advised to check the requirements with your chosen higher education institution. Students applying for a science related course are also likely to need a Grade C/4 in GCSE Science.
