At Selby College, we have a fantastic range of part-time Courses for Adults, that can be delivered at our campus or online. Whether you're looking for a way to upskill and improve your career prospects, refresh existing skills or learn a new subject, the chances are Selby College will have something to interest you:
Our distance learning courses are available to anyone over the age of 19, and are available free of charge as long as they are completed within your given deadline. There is a £25 fee should you wish to complete the course paper-based. There is no need to formally attend college; these courses can be completed online at home at a time that suits you. You will be provided with a knowledgeable tutor who will support you throughout the course, providing feedback and guidance where necessary.
Selby College offers a range of adult courses including Functional Skills in English and Maths up to level 2 and ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) which can be studied in our Adult Learning Hub at Selby College in room J1.29 in the Jubilee Building, or alternatively at any location with appropriate internet access.
We also run a range of short courses which may be of interest to you to learn new skills of enhance your knowledge. Our courses range from first aid in the workplace, to food safety courses and the care certificate, with many being delivered online. However, our first aid courses are run multiple times throughout the year on college premises, with the option to be delivered to you in your workplace for a minimum of six people.
An Apprenticeship is a real job with training that gives you the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications whilst you work. This could be the perfect choice if you are passionate about working in a certain industry and are looking for a change of career or if you are looking to upskill within your current role at work. There is no upper age limit for becoming an apprentice, as long as you are over 16 you can start today.
