This course studies current affairs from the UK and US to help you understand the political systems of both countries. An in-depth study of the two political systems enables you to identify parallels, connections, similarities and differences between aspects of each system. You will have an interest in current affairs and politics along with the capacity to bring together the broad range of theories, concepts and ideologies studied to address wide-ranging exam essay questions.*
Throughout your course, you will study topics such as:

• The role and structure of Parliament
• The politics of the UK: democracy, elections, political parties
• Pressure Groups

• Government and politics of the US
• Comparative politics
