Entry Requirements: Standard A Level entry requirements apply. For this course you will also need a Grade 6 in Maths and a Grade 6 in Physics or Combined Science, and be taking A Level Maths or Core Maths.

Physics is the study of the properties and interactions of matter and energy. Our understanding of many features of the everyday world relies on knowledge drawn from the ideas and methods of Physics. In this course you will study how things work from subatomic particles to galaxies. You will study these phenomena in class through theory, experiments and computer simulations. There is a large mathematical component to the course, so confidence using Maths is a must. If you like to know how things work and why things happen, this course is ideal for you.

Your Future

With a qualification in one or more of the sciences you could go on to a Further or Higher Education course in one of your subjects or, with a suitable combination of subjects, courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Environmental Science are possible. Alternatively, you will be well-equipped to pursue careers in a science-based industry or business.
