A Bricklaying Apprentice from Selby College recently took on a courageous fundraiser to raise money for UK cancer charity ‘Target Ovarian Cancer’. Joe Brooks, who took part in the college’s Bricklaying Skills Competition last month, was motivated by his mum’s ovarian cancer diagnosis four years ago, and decided to give something back to the charity which aims to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide support to women suffering with the disease.
When the big day arrived on Friday 27th April, Joe was overwhelmed with the support he received from friends and family. He successfully raised £450, three times more than his original target of £150.
