Celebrating Success with Annabel Marshall & Louisa Marshall

  • Former School: The Read School
  • Class of: 2010
  • Studied: BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development

Less than four years after completing their BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development at Selby College, twins Louisa and Annabel Marshall have opened their very own Day Nursery - all at the age of 21.

Former Read School students, Louisa and Annabel have always aspired to work with children of different age groups within a nursery environment, but their greatest ambition has been to set up their own nursery. Both have a passion for teaching and creating a fun and safe learning environment for children and thanks to the experience and help that they gained during their time at Selby College, Maisy Moo’s Day Nursery in the village of Wistow, near Selby, is now open for business!

Maisy Moo’s Day Nursery provides a small homely environment where every child is at the centre of everything the team do.

They have very ambitious staff working for them who equally share their dream to make the nursery a success. There are two different rooms, Baby Moo’s for 0-2 years, for a maximum of nine children and Mini Moo’s for age two to school age, for a maximum of 12 children. The nursery also has a sensory room and a messy room for the children to explore, along with a large outdoor space.

A few weeks after opening on Monday 7th March 2016, Maisy Moo’s has proven to be a popular choice for parents and already has 11 children signed up and enjoying the environment Louisa and Annabel have created for them.

Co-owners Louisa and Annabel said: “We have only praise for our tutors at Selby College and the support we received through our Childcare course with them. They were always there when you needed them and they have played a big part in where we are today.”

Manager Louisa will head up a small team of fully qualified staff, all with current DBS checks, first aid and safeguarding training.

Louisa added: “Thanks to our College course we were well equipped to provide everything the children need to thrive. I am hoping to start my Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies in September at Selby College, where I know I will receive the same amount of support to help me through this whilst running my own Nursery.”

“We would recommend the course to anyone interested in Childcare. These tutors are the best! They helped us if we struggled and also ensured we achieved to the best of our abilities. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them.”

Maisy Moo’s will be open Monday-Friday, 7.30am-6pm all year round except bank holidays and a week at Christmas. Prices start at £40 for a Full Day and £20 for a morning or afternoon session.
