- Name: Adam Priestley
- Class of: 2010
- Studied: National Diploma in Sport + Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching
- Doing What? Working at The Morley Academy as a Learning Mentor
When Adam Priestley first joined Selby College he just wanted to play sport so it was a real surprise when, four years later, the former Sherburn High School student landed a job at a school as a Learning Mentor.
As a student on the National Diploma in Sport, Adam enjoyed a number of sporting successes during his time at Selby College, being selected for the Football Development Centre Team and representing the college in the North of England College Squad, to name just two.
However, he soon realised he needed to get some qualifications, so after achieving a Merit in his sports course he decided to stay on at Selby College to study his Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching, passing with flying colours in 2009 and converting this to a full Honours Degree with a BSc in Sports Performance Top-Up course at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2010.
He said; "the vocational route suited me so much more than taking exams, I am still well on track to achieve what I want in my life and eventually, after I've gained more experience, I'd like to be a PE Teacher."
